William S. Farr, Sr

William S. Farr, Sr. of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old. Born in Camden on March 8, 1942, he was a lifetime resident of Maple Shade. Bill worked as a printer for 26 years at John C. Myer and Son in Philadelphia, after which was a self employed printer for many years. He was a former member of the Maple Shade Jaycees, and the Maple Shade Sports Club. Bill had many hobbies including camping, fishing, listening to country and oldies music. He was an avid fan of the Special Olympics. Bill took great pleasure sitting and chatting with family around the fire pit at home.

 

Beloved husband of the late Gail Farr (nee Hayes), loving father of William Farr, Jr., and Gwennan (the late Thomas) Spencer, dear brother of Linda (Bill) Kurz, Dorothy (the late Stanley) Lavdas, cherished grandfather of Amanda Gail, William III, Tommy, Haillie and Shane, proud great grandfather of Cara, son of the late Edgar and Gladys Farr, brother of the late Joan Parks, brother of the late Edgar, brother-in-law of Meredith Farr, and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 8:30 am - 11 am at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd, Maple Shade. His funeral service will follow at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
