Walter "Bud" Higgins, Jr

Walter H. "Bud" Higgins, Jr. of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Bud was born on November 3, 1939 in Philadelphia and resided there before moving to Maple Shade 60 years ago. He retired from Wanamaker's where he worked as Chief Engineer, a job he truly loved. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Bud was an all around handy man and great teacher, always helping family and friends with home repairs, car repairs, A/C & Heating and woodworking. He truly loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

 

Beloved husband of 60 years to Marie Higgins (nee Bonner), loving father of James C. (Amberly) Higgins and Lisa (Ed) Martin, adoring grandfather of Rachael Higgins (Elvis Fraile), Ryan Martin (Karly), and Taylor Rae Martin, proud great grandfather of Wyatt, dear brother of Joseph (Gay) Dugan and brother-in-law of Grace Bonner, Bud also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends who will greatly miss him.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with his family on Saturday February 18th, 11 am- 1 pm at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. A memorial service will follow at 1 pm. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made in Bud's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital @stjude.org
