Veronica A. Kostek

Veronica A. Kostek (nee McGrath) eighty year resident of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 29, 2024 at the age of 97. She was born on December 9, 1926 in Ahascragh, Ireland to the late Matthew and Mary Catherine McGrath. Veronica worked as a hairdresser in London during World War II where she met Jake. Moving to the states, she raised 4 children and at age 70 became a companion at Cadbury in Cherry Hill and retired at the age of 80. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, and was a member of the Republican Club. Veronica enjoyed baking and cooking and had accumulated more than a thousand recipes, many of which she used often. She took pleasure in knitting, but above all else loved to spend time with family and babysitting her grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late John A. "Jake" Kostek, loving mother of James (Beverly) Kostek, Kathleen (William) Himchak, John (Barbara) Kostek and Paul (Sara) Kostek, dear friend of John Savory, cherished grandmother of Matthew Renner, Michael (Joc) Renner, William (Sandy) Chapman, Nicole (Alex) Morales, Elisabeth (Robert) Braciszewski, Bridget Kostek, Paul Kostek, Adam (Mayara) Kostek and Emily (Dylan) Waller, grandmother of the late Mark Renner and Daniel Kostek, and many great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and visitation on Saturday November 2nd 10 -11 AM at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maple Shade First Aid Squad, 44 S. Maple Ave., Maple Shade, NJ 08052.
