Rita J. Tursi

Rita J. Tursi age 91 of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on August 1, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Philadelphia on February 9, 1929 and has resided in Maple Shade since 1953. Rita was a faithful parishioner of St. Teresa of Calcutta-Holy Savior Church and was very active in the deaf community. She enjoyed cooking and made many delicious meals.

Beloved wife of Peter J. Tursi, loving and devoted mother of Peter L. Tursi, Anthony J. (Kathryn) Tursi, Joseph A. Tursi, cherished grandmother of Anthony Jr. (Andrea) Tursi, and Barbara Tursi, adoring great grandmother of Aiden and Sophia, Mrs. Tursi is also survived by many nieces and nephews and good friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and visitation on Thursday, August 6, 9-10:30 am at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday following her viewing at St. Teresa of Calcutta-Holy Savior Church, 50 Emerald Ave., Haddon Twp, NJ. Social distancing will be in effect, facial coverings will be required  . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Rita Tursi, to The Ministry With The Deaf, 81 Cooper Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096 in care of “Father Hugh Bradley.”
