Richard “Rick” F. Casassa

Richard F. “Rick” Casassa of Maple Shade, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 29th, surrounded by loving family. He was 68 years old. Born in Philadelphia, formerly of Marlton, he moved to Maple Shade in 1972. Rick retired from Cardinal Paving, Southampton, N.J. after many years of employment. He was an avid skier and enjoyed  fishing. He was a former member of the Maple Shade Board of Education, a member of the Happy Hour Club and was a former girls soccer coach in Maple Shade. His greatest pleasures were spending time with family and winters in Florida. Beloved husband of Joann Casassa (nee Bishop), loving father of Dawn (George "Tad") Greenwood, Jennifer (Mark) Mazza, dear son of Ruth Casassa and the late Peter, devoted brother of Carol Casassa (Tom Reilly), Peter (Lisa) Casassa, Sandra (Richard) Brewer, Penny Casassa (Rick Fedoriw), cherished grandfather of Zachary, Austin, Emily, Zachary, Abigail, Gabrielle, Ethan and Ava, also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many good friends.Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with his family on Friday, May 4th, 10-12 noon at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. Funeral service will follow at 12 noon.
