Raymond J. Cox, Jr. of Maple Shade passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was 79 years of age. Born on March 5, 1942 in Media, Pa., he was a 40 year resident of Maple Shade. Ray proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1961-1963, and was a retired self-employed IT Consultant. Ray was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church and a member of The Knights of Columbus. He had a strong devotion to Mary the Blessed Mother, the Devine Mercy and adorer of the Blessed Sacrament. Ray was a very charitable person and enjoyed reading, going to the beach and traveling with his loving wife Bobbie.
Beloved husband of Bobbie Cox (nee Burnel), devoted father of Nancy (the late Patrick) Arey, Raymond Cox III, Joseph (Mary) Cox, Barbara Hentz, Bob (Desiree) Hentz, and Brian (Maureen) Hentz, cherished grandfather of Sarah, Patrick, Grace, Nicholas, Betsy, George IV, Rebecca, Brian, Jr., Shawn, Joshua, Lukas, adoring great grandfather of Hannah, Nathan, Mary, Thomas, Isabella, Donella, Charlotte, Cesidia, Bernadette, Kaylah, Noah, Carlin and George V, dear brother of Patricia (the late Frank) Schoner, Margaret Cox, and Thomas (Michele) Cox. Ray is also survived by many nieces, nephews and his new found love Pacer the cat.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Thursday January 20th, 9-10 am at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am on Thursday January 20th, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main St, Maple Shade. Interment will be in Jesus Bread of Life Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ray's name may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at the above address. The family asks that masks be worn at the viewing and mass.
