Paul S. Dungee of Mt. Laurel, age 99 passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 19, 2018. Born in Virginia, he resided in Maple Shade for over 20 years before moving to Okeechobee, Florida, where he resided for 25 years. Paul proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II, and was awarded the Silver Star and two Purple Heart Medals, and then served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. While in SE Asia during the Vietnam War, he was awarded the Bronze Star and Air Force Commendation Medals. He served a total of 23 years in the US Armed Services. Paul retired from Coca Cola as a service manager. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, and Sacred Heart Church in Okeechobee, Florida. He was a former member of the American Legion in Philadelphia.He was preceded in death by his wives, Rita Dungee (nee Sullivan: 30 years), and Helen M. Dungee (nee Beaulieu: 25 years), his former wife Marie Dungee (nee Smith), and his son Fred. He is survived by sons James (Deborah) Dungee, Michael (Patricia) Dungee, Joseph Dungee, and Gerald (Linda) Dungee, and Paul S. Dungee, grandchildren Brenda, Patrick, Jennifer, Lisa, Aileen, Paul, Rita, Ryan, and Deena, thirteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Thursday, September 6th, 7-9 pm and Friday, September 7th 9:30-10:30 am, at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main St., Maple Shade. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Paul's name may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital @stjude.org or Toys for Tots @toysfortots.org
