Mary A. Winters, 89, of Delanco, formerly Maple Shade, NJ and Philadelphia, PA, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, March 16. Mary was born on April 25, 1928 in Larksville, PA to Elizabeth and John Kwashnak. Edmund J. Winters fell in love at first sight of Mary, and interrupted her blind date with another poor gentleman to tell her as much. They wed on September 3, 1951. Ed preceeded Mary in death, but they had 45 wonderful years together. Mary is survived by her brother, Paul (Judy) Kwashnak, and her three children- Edmund Jr. (Cheryl), James (Marianne), and Nancy (James) Masly. Mary’s grandchildren- Michael (Annette) Masly, Elizabeth (Frank) Kukielka, and Donna (Chris) Burns- and great grandchildren Logan, Morgan, Ashley and Lisa Masly and Jimmy Kukielka will all miss her very much. Mary spent years volunteering at Maude M. Wilkins Elementary with the school nurse, Fran. They remained good friends until the end. Mary also leaves behind her best friend Helen, and Brenda, her devoted caretaker and friend. Mary’s funeral service will take place 11 am Friday, March 23rd at St. Casimir Church, located at 502 New Jersey Avenue in Riverside NJ. A visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at the church. Interment private.
