Marie K. Campbell, longtime Maple Shade resident, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024, at home with her family at her side, at the age of 85. Born on July 5, 1938, Marie's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the warmth of a caring heart. Marie was the cherished wife of Stephen Campbell Sr., with whom she shared over 65 years of unwavering love and companionship. Together, they built a family foundation that would stand the test of time. She was a devoted mother to her three sons, Stephen Campbell Jr. and his wife Donna, Christopher Campbell and his wife Donna, and Edward Campbell, who was predeceased by his wife Dorothy. Marie's legacy continued to flourish through her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Her sister, Kathleen Winter, along with her aunt, Cass Kenny, and many nieces and nephews, also survive Marie. They, along with the rest of her family, will forever cherish the memories and the love she so freely gave. She is also pre-deceased by her brother-in-law, Joseph Winter. Marie's professional life was dedicated to the community as a longtime librarian for Maple Shade, where she touched the lives of countless patrons with her helpful guidance and warm smile. Her love for animals, especially cats, was more than just a passion—it was a calling. She devoted much of her time volunteering at her church and for the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees, always striving to make the world a better place for all creatures, great and small. An avid cook, Marie found joy in the simple pleasure of preparing meals for her family. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where laughter was shared, stories were told, and memories were made. Marie's love for her family was the main ingredient in every dish she lovingly prepared. Relative and friends are invited to her visitation Saturday afternoon, March 16th from 1 to 2 pm at the Mark C. Tilghman Funeral Home, 38 North Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. A celebration of her life will follow at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Animal Welfare Association. (awnj.org)
