Maria Carcaise

Maria Carcaise (nee Tobia) of Blackwood passed away peacefully on Saturday February 8, 2025 at the age of 98. She was born on February 7, 1927 in Paulsboro to the late Serrafino and Giuditta Tobia and resided in Camden and Italy before moving to Blackwood in 1967. Maria was a devoted school teacher for 20 years at St. Joseph's School in Camden and another 20 years at St. Jude's School in Blackwood. She was a graduate of Glassboro State College. Maria dearly loved her family and enjoyed Sunday dinners and playing cards on Friday and Saturday nights with them.

Beloved wife of the late Edward Carcaise who passed in 2003, loving mother of Pasquale "Dr. Pat" (Susan) Carcaise, the late Mark Carcaise, and the late Susan Carcaise Petrone, dear sister of Sergio (Christina) Tobia and the late Dora Monti, Rita Lewendowski, Antonio Tobia, Guido Tobia and Albert Tobia, cherished grandmother of Scott (Kristin) and 5 other grandchildren, proud great grandmother of Scotty, Maria was also loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and visitation with her family on Saturday February 15th, 10 - 11 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main Street, Maple Shade. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to Samaritan Hospice @samaritannj.org Arrangements by the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, Maple Shade.
