Leonard J. Nowak

Leonard J. Nowak, age 97, of Moorestown, NJ passed away Thursday, May 9^th, 2024. Born in Camden on September 8, 1926, Leonard retired as a bus driver from NJ Transit and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Maple Shade VFW Post 244, its Honor Guard,  American Legion, AARP and OLPH Senior Club. He was a parishioner of OLGC of Moorestown. He enjoyed trips to the Jersey Shore and never missed an opportunity to stop at the Lobster House in Cape May, NJ. Len played the harmonica and loved trains. He donated to many veterans causes and charities.

 

Beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee Campbell) who passed away ten years ago. Loving father of Julie Ann (Joseph) Norris, Donna Marie Nowak, and Kathleen (Xavier) Emig. Cherished grandfather of Michael Midiri, Kristen (Dave) Simontacchi, Rachel (Sean) Tait, Christian (Emily) Emig and Brent Emig and grand pup Scrappy.  Adoring great grandfather of Colin and Elizabeth Tait.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation on Monday, May 13^th from 6-8 PM at the Mark C. Tilghman Funeral Home, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade, NJ 08053. A funeral service will be held Tuesday 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors at www.woundedwarriorproject.org
