Leon J. “Joe” Corl Sr., age 74, passed away at his home in Rangeley, Maine on Saturday, January 7, 2023 with his wife by his side. He was born June 15, 1948 in Trenton. He attended Pennsbury HS graduating in 1967. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Army. He later worked for Ford Motor Company in Metuchen for over 31 years, retiring in Maine in 2001. Joe loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting and/or fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. Joe loved his family, especially his two grandchildren, Rebecca and Andrew Proctor. He was an avid sports fan of baseball and football, cheering on the Phillies and Eagles. For many years in the late 70’s and early 80’s Joe coached the 90 lb. football teams for Pemberton PAAL. Son of the late Leon W. and Concetta (Ferranti) Corl; brother of the late William N. Corl; brother-in-law of the late Debra Putt, he is survived by his wife Carol (nee Bowers) of over 54 years; two children, Billie Jo Proctor (Andrew), Leon J. Corl Jr. (Michelle); two grandchildren, Rebecca and Andrew Proctor; sisters-in-law, Quoi Corl, Caroline Wonchalk (Butch), Terri Klinger (Phil), Denise Kramer (Roy), April Gallagher (John); brothers-in-law, Bill Putt, Gerald Bowers (Colleen), David Bowers (Debbie); and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Saturday, January 14th from 12 to 2 pm at the Mark C. Tilghman Funeral Home, 38 North Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. Funeral service will follow at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association (heart.org), Androscoggin Home Healthcare & Hospice (Androscoggin.org), and/or the Donate Life America (donatelife.net)
