Joseph "JR" D. Perla

Joseph D. Perla (known as JR) age 92 of Cherry Hill, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 17, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Camden on December 29, 1930, he was a resident of Cherry Hill since 1957. JR was a self employed carpenter, and served in the National Guard. He was an active member of the Moorestown Lions Club where he enjoyed building the annual Christmas float and raising funds for the White Cane collection. JR also had many interests including his love of cooking, listening to Frank Sinatra and helping with his family's home projects.
 
Beloved husband of the late Jean Perla who passed away in 2019, father of the late James Perla, he is survived by his loving children Jerry (Donna) Perla, Joseph (the late Coleene) Perla, and John Perla (Theresa Leahy) , his dear sister Elaine (William) Stapelton, his cherished 6 grandchildren, his dear 8 great grandchildren and adored uncle to many nieces and nephews. 
 
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Friday December 22nd, 10 AM - 12 PM at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. Funeral service will follow at 12 PM. Interment will be held in Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
