Joseph J. Freed III, Age 56 of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on April 18, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes/Virtua Hospital in Camden, NJ.

He was born October 9, 1963 in Plainfield, NJ to Joseph and Carol (Parisi) Freed.  He grew up in Cranford, NJ.

He graduated from St. Michael’s School in Cranford, NJ in 1979, Graduated from Union Catholic High School, Scotch Plains, NJ in 1982, Also graduated from Union County Technical School, Scotch Plains, NJ in 1982.  Moved to Maple Shade in 1987, Married Margaret ( Cunningham) May 22, 1999.

Joe worked for Siemens Tel Plus, Rosenbluth Corporate Travel, Our Lady of Lourdes/Virtua Hospital (Camden), Atlantic Care Mt. Laurel Urgent Care and most recently Rondo Pak Packaging in Camden, NJ. 

Joe was a life member of the Maple Shade First Aid Squad, Inc. where he devoted many years of  volunteer hours of service to the community that he loved and was proud to serve.  He was also a volunteer coach for the Maple Shade Soccer Club for a number of years where he coached his daughters and many other youth from our community and others.  He thoroughly enjoyed working with his players and was always proud of the efforts, abilities and accomplishments. 

Joe was a loving, caring person and was there to help all in need in whatever way he could.

Joe was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Maple Shade, he was very proud to be a member there and loved our congregation family.  He was especially fond of Pastor Ann Marie Cook who had worked very closely with Joe on several projects for the church, and had helped him through the most difficult times of his life.

Joe is survived by his mother, Carol J. Freed (nee Parisi), loving wife Margaret ( nee Cunningham), Daughters Amanda Scully, Margaret Carol Freed, Lauren Marie Freed, Sons Stephen Joseph Freed, (inherited son- James Tulino), Loving sister Linda F. Redling (nee Freed), brother in law Michael Redling, Sister’s in law Barbara Cunningham and Jane Rachlin , Nephews Craig J Cunningham, Jason A. Rachlin (Desiree),  Derek Redling, Niece Rachel Nelson, Kyle Nelson, Aunts Joyce Kenney, Joan Tanzi and  Janet Tanzi, Cousin Gregory Conroy, Great Nieces Emily Redling, Chloe Redling and Breanna Rachlin, Great Nephews Rider Nelson and Colin Redling.

A memorial service for Joe will be held on Saturday, May 21st, 10 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 26 South Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with his family from 9-10 am at the church.
