Joseph N. Farace, Jr. of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 89 years of age. Joe was born on December 7, 1930 in Philadelphia, and resided in Maple Shade for 65 years. Joe proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired after a career in electronic development for the Naval Air Station in Warminster, Pa. where he developed 4 patents for the government. Joe was particularly proud of his time with the Navy, and looked forward to his ship's reunions and reuniting with his shipmates. He was a devout parishioner and former choir member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Maple Shade. Playing the organ, fishing and photography were among the hobbies Joe enjoyed.
Beloved husband of 68 years to Dolores Farace (nee Breischaft), loving and devoted father of Donna (Gerry) Fish, Joseph N.Farace III (Barbara Neil), Linda (Michael) Hood, Rosemary (Tony) DeMarco, Tina (Ken) O'Gorman, cherished grandfather of Jeffrey (Danielle) Hoffman, Elizabeth (Steven) Giddens, Dolores Marie (Rich) Jupinka, Joseph N. Farace IV, Michael, Jr. (Liza) Hood, Karl Hood, Paul and T.J. DeMarco, proud great grandfather of Julia, Aiden, Aries, Avery, Evan, Caitlyn, Michael III, Tripp, Joe is also survived by many niece, nephews and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Monday, August 31st 8:30-10:30 am at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main Street, Maple Shade. Interment will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joe's name to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at the above address. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting marktilghmanfuneralhome.com Social distancing will be in place, and facial coverings will be required at the funeral home and the church.
