Joan F. Ochlak (née Steck), longtime resident of Maple Shade, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Daughter of the late George and Veronica Steck. Joan was a gentle soul with a huge heart , a devoted wife to her husband of 41 years, Timothy A. Ochlak, loving mother to her 3 children, Lisa (James) Kots, the late Timothy M. Ochlak, and Andrew Ochlak. Loving grandmother of Logan and Brielle Kots. Dear sister of George (Nancy) Steck, Thomas (Alice) Steck, and Judy (Mike) Birkbeck. Beloved sister-in-law of the Ochlak family. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Joan was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, volunteering at the school for many years. She worked for Camden Catholic High School assisting students with college placement. Joan was a caring and compassionate woman who was deeply devoted to her family and faith, always putting the care of others before herself. There will be a viewing from 7-9pm Thursday evening at the Mark C. Tilghman Funeral Home, 38 North Forklanding Road, Maple Shade, and 10-11 am Friday morning at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am, Friday May 3rd at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 East Main Street, Maple Shade. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (www.mda.org)
