His frequent casino trips were not just about the thrill of the game but also about the pleasure of being in the company of friends and loved ones.

He leaves behind a legacy through his children: Jim Heisler, Jr. and his wife Josephine, Steven Heisler and his wife Lisa, John Heisler and his wife Andrea, Maryellen DeMille and her husband Paul, Cathleen Laing and her husband Brian, and Carolyn Linden and her husband Bob. Jim was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Onicca, Dominic, Joseph, TaeLynn, Skylar, Jimmy IV, and Zackery, who brought him immense joy in his later years. Jim is loved by his family without exception, and he loved them unconditionally.
