James R. Friedrich of Cream Ridge passed away peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 81 years old. Jim was born in Trenton on March 29, 1940 and was a lifetime Cream Ridge resident. Son of the late Russell and Anna Friedrich, father of the late David, brother of the late Mary Wharton, Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Caryl Friedrich (nee Klein), loving children JoAnn (Buddy) Wilkins of North Hanover, Kenneth (Pamela) Friedrich of New Egypt and Linda (Robert) Pintye of North Hanover, his cherished grandchildren Jeremy (Caryce) Wilkins, Shannon (Mike) Hodson, Ashley (Tom) Carpenter, Tyler Pintye, and Kenneth R. Friedrich, dear great grandchildren Brooke Short, Stephanie and Demi Hodson, Vanessa Pintye and River WIlkins, and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Jim retired as Captain from the State of New Jersey, Department of Corrections. He was a longtime member of New Egypt Methodist Church, the New Egypt Historical Society, Allentown High School 50 Plus Reunion committee, the Zion Cemetery Association, and the Christmas Tree Growers Association. Jim was an avid hunter and former member of Woodruff Rod and Gun Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Friday evening, October 29th, 5-8 pm and Saturday morning 10-11 am in Atkinson Hall at the New Egypt Methodist Church, 38 N. Main St., New Egypt. This is the same church Jim and Caryl were married in 62 years ago. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 30th, 11 am in Atkinson Hall. Interment will be in Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to the New Egypt United Methodist Church, 38 N. Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 or to the New Egypt Historical Society, 125 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533. (Please note James Friedrich in memo).
