James F. Dougherty, Jr.

James F. Dougherty, Jr. of Coatesville, Pa. passed away on Sunday January 22, 2023. He was 56 years old. Jim was born in Camden on July 1, 1966 and was a longtime resident of Maple Shade. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1984-1990. Jim resided in California for a time where he worked for Los Angeles County at a trash to steam plant before moving back east. He enjoyed reading books and watching game shows. Jim was an avid golf enthusiast, and a very talented handy man. He was a very big Eagles fan. 

 

Father of Samantha, dear son of Thelma Dougherty (nee Rice), James F., Sr. and Cindy Dougherty, devoted  brother of Joseph "Doc" (Ann) Dougherty, John (Julie) Dougherty and Tracy (Michael) McWilliams, cherished uncle to Brett, McKenzie, Abigail and Michael, Jim is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering and visitation for Jim on Friday evening January 27th, 6-8 pm at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. Memorial service will follow at 8 pm. Interment will be held privately at the NJ Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to Chester County Hospital-Penn Medicine (Chester County Hospital Foundation), 701 Marshall Street, West Chester, Pa. 19380
