Helene R. Zak

Helene R. Zak (nee Spinka) of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 10, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years of age. Born on May 13, 1938 in Philadelphia, she was a longtime resident of Maple Shade. Helene worked as a secretary for Davis Enterprises, a teachers aide at Maple Shade High School and at Cadbury in Cherry Hill. She was a devoted Parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church where she was active with the choir, Bible Study Group, and Eucharistic Ministry giving communion to nursing home residents. Among her hobbies, Helene enjoyed gardening, flowers, mowing her lawn, sewing and visiting the beach. Her greatest blessing was her family and the love she shared with them.

 

Beloved wife of 63 years to John Zak, loving mother of Suzanne (Dan) Tokolish, John, Jr. (Jill) Zak, Judith (Michael) Checca and Christina Stryker, cherished grandmother of Rebecca (Ryan), Daniel, Jr. (Rachel), Elizabeth, Victoria, Zakary, Julia, Jacqueline, and Kayla, adoring great grandmother of Layla, Olivia and Daniel III, she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and visitation with her family on Monday, July 18th 10-11am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main Street, Maple Shade. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the visitation at 11 am. Interment will be in Jesus Bread of Life Cemetery, Mt. Laurel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helene’s name to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at the above address.
