Harry J. McCalla, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the age of 81. He was born in Camden on April 23, 1943 to the late Harry, Sr. and Catherine McCalla. Harry was a lifetime resident of Maple Shade and small business owner of H. McCalla Trucking, Creative Concepts and Aqua Tech Scuba Center. He was a devoted former member of the Maple Shade Fire Company and Maple Shade First Aid Squad. One of Harry's passions was his love for scuba diving and travelling, having been a member and course instructor for NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors). His favorite spot, Truk Lagoon in the South Pacific, held a special place in his heart. He took great pleasure spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed barbequing and smoking meat with his various spices.
Beloved husband of 63 years to Shirley McCalla (nee Carpenter), loving father of Yvonne Carolyn McCalla, Joseph Michael (Bridget) McCalla and Vincent Harry (Carolyn) McCalla, cherished grandfather of Shanna Nicole (Mike Adams), Alexandra (Dave) Faust, Joseph, Jr., Curt, Heather, Linsey, Vincent, Jr., Breanne, Eric, Morgan, and Arianna, proud great grandfather of 9, dear brother of the late Catherine "Cassie" Marrandino and Mary Frankfurter, Harry will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Funeral services will be private.
