Girard (Jerry) M. Scola
Girard M. Scola of Philadelphia passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021. He was 66 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, he raised his family in Philadelphia prior to moving to Maple Shade and then moving to Blackwood for the last 10 years. Jerry worked as a foreman at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. He was devoted to his family; he enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends and most of all he was especially proud of his grandchildren.
Beloved husband of the late Joan Scola, son of the late George and Helen Scola, brother of the late Frankie Scola, survived by his loving children Jennifer, John (Kathleen) and Jill, cherished grandchildren John, Clayton, Olivia, Sophia and Adrianna, devoted brother of Georgeann (the late Robert) Read, Helen Scola, Angelo (Renie) Scola, John Scola and Lillian Doran. Godfather to Christine Scola and Johnny Scola JR. Many cousins, nieces/nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with his family on Monday, April 26th 10-11 AM, at Christ Our Light Roman Catholic Church, 402 N. Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery (Mausoleum). Facial coverings and social distancing will be in place.
