George J. Olesky age 95 of Maple Shade passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Born on April 21,1927 in Wyoming, Pa., he was a 67 year resident of Maple Shade. George proudly served his country in the US Army/AirForce during World War II. He graduated from Bucknell University in 1951 with a degree in electrical engineering. George retired from RCA in Camden where he worked as an electrical engineer. He was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Lovingly known as Pop Pop to all, he enjoyed discussing history with his grandchildren, bowling, traveling to the casinos, and playing pinochle. George was known to take pleasure in a VO and ginger ale and a good cigar.
Beloved husband for 67 wonderful years to Margaret Olesky (nee Ryan), loving father of Denise (Anthony) Valentino, Dr. Cathleen Olesky, George (Julie) Olesky, Michael (Karen) Olesky, and Mark (Robin) Olesky, dear brother of Theresa (Mike) Satkowski and Anna Oleski, cherished grandfather of Anthony, Christopher, Thomas, Matthew, Tia, Liz, Andrew, Alina, Brionna, Kayla and Ryan, proud great grandfather of 6, and also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering and visitation with his family on Saturday, July 16th, 11am - 12 noon at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade. A memorial service will follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in George’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital @stjude.org
