George Anthony Broskey, Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the passing of George Anthony Broskey Sr. on July 4, 2022 at 61 years of age. George was born and raised in Bucks County, PA and graduated from Council Rock High School, Class of 1978. After meeting his Manayunk native wife, Joan Loftus Broskey down the shore, they wed and were blessed with 4 children whom they raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before calling Maple Shade, NJ home for the past 21 years.

George would tell you he was a “mechanical operator,” and we were proud and inspired by his work ethic and professionalism as a truck driver for the past 40 years, most recently with Gray Trucking in Beverly, NJ. George worked tirelessly providing for his family. He was selfless and gracious with his love, friendship with his children, and help to anyone in need. He was the Dad you could always find at his kids’ games or events, teaching them to swim and drive, celebrating their triumphs and walking alongside them through their trials. As George became a grandfather, he loved nothing more than surprising his grandchildren at their sporting events any chance he had. To watch his family succeed was his biggest joy in life.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joyce Wagner Broskey (2005) and George T. Broskey (2022), We are grateful he will be reunited with them and his grandchildren Babies Broskey-Chernack.

George was a beloved husband, dad, and grandfather. He leaves behind: Wife, Joan Loftus Broskey, Children: Allyson Broskey, Michele Broskey DNP (Leah Simko), George Broskey (Connie Bowers) and Emilee Broskey. Sisters: Janice Pressede (Ken Shankman) and Leslie Fleming (Robert Taylor). Mother-in-law: Joan Loftus. He has 8 grandchildren who lit up his life: George Wesley, Anthony, Charlie Grace, Aniela Joyce, Adam, Donovan, Henry and Louie John.

George Anthony Broskey Sr. was a true family man and friend. George loved the Fourth of July, barbecues, the Shore, fishing, Jerry Garcia, being in his garden, music playing, and having a relaxing time with family and friends down at Sleepy Hollow Campground. George was a very passionate man for the things and people he loved. In the summer you could find him fishing at the dock or riding his bike down the shore to catch the sunrise. He was a man of tradition and lived to see his family succeed. Some of the the traditions that brought him tremendous joy were sitting by the campfire roasting marshmallows with his grandkids, spending holidays together and every birthday the family celebrated. He fought valiantly against a difficult cancer diagnosis for two long years and we are so appreciative for all the love and support of family, friends, his community, his nurses and doctors at PennMedicine and Samaritan Hospice. A special thank you to Dr. Betty Chernack for her love and guidance with navigating thru this cancer journey.
