Frank A. Troso of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 78. Born in Roccavivara, Italy, on January 17, 1946, to the late Michael and Concetta Troso (nee Longo), Frank immigrated to the United States at a young age, growing up in Camden. A successful business owner, he ran Frank's Upholstering and Draperies and Comet Doors in Maple Shade for over 40 years. Frank also served as a Commissioner for the Burlington County Bridge Commission and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
A devoted community leader, Frank was deeply involved in the Maple Shade community and his parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He served on the Maple Shade Town Council for 20 years, including as Mayor. He was a member of Maple Shade VFW Post 2445, and volunteered with the Maple Shade Little League, Boy Scouts, Indian Guides, and Indian Princesses. An avid Phillies fan, Frank also enjoyed collecting coins and had a keen interest in ancient Roman and Egyptian history. Known for his outgoing nature, he was always ready to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Above all, Frank valued his family, who brought him immense joy and purpose.
Frank was the beloved husband for 54 years of the late Theresa Troso (nee Preto), a loving father to Frank A. Troso, Jr., Christine Troso, and Michael (Joann) Troso, and a cherished grandfather to Drew Jeffries, Sophia Troso, and Holden Troso, as well as step-grandfather to Gabriel Rodriguez and Ava-Marie Rodriguez. He is also survived by his dear sister Tina (Joe) Fantini, his sister-in-law Ida Troso, and was predeceased by his brothers Caesar and Leo Troso. Frank will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and good friends.
