Emanuel Lacontora

Emanuel Lacontora of Maple Shade passed away peacefully at the age of 83, on Thursday November 7, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Philadelphia on October 29, 1941 to the late Joseph and Angelina Lacontora. Manny retired from the Philadelphia Inquirer after many years, where he worked as a pressman. He resided in Philadelphia before moving to Maple Shade. Manny was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia. He was a loyal Eagles and Phillies fan, and also enjoyed playing the lottery. Manny dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Beloved husband of 58 years to Elizabeth Lacontora (nee Gebre), loving father of Mark (Kelly Pleis) Lacontora, and Elizabeth (Tim) Frontz, cherished grandfather of Vincent Lacontora, Katherine Frontz, Christina Frontz, Edward Zimmerman and Madison Zimmerman, dear brother of Sue Pignuola, Joanne Veltri and the late Dolores Caione, Manny also will be missed by many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with his family on Friday November 15th, 9-11 AM at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. His memorial service will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Emanuel's name to The American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
