Edith M. Dermody Westlund of Maple Shade passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021. She was 59 years old. Born in Philadelphia on August 20, 1961, she was a lifetime resident of Maple Shade. She graduated from Maple Shade High School, class of 1979 and Rutgers University in 1986. Edith worked as a field officer for the Internal Revenue Service in Philadelphia. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and the Happy Hour Club in Maple Shade. Edith loved the beach and enjoyed traveling, she was the happiest spending time with family and friends especially her husband Curt. She was a very generous person and fun to be with, and was loved by all who knew her.
Beloved wife of 27 years to husband Curt Westlund, loving daughter Edith Dermody (nee Pfeil), and the late Edward V. Dermody, Jr., devoted sister of Ed Dermody III, Peggy (Mark) Gebhard, Fred (Dawn) Dermody, Jeanne (Dan) Juckett, and a dear cousin who was like a sister Barbara (Don) Staudt, also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and visitation with her family on Monday evening, July 19th 6-9 pm and Tuesday morning 10:30 - 11:30 am at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 20th, 12 noon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 East Main St., Maple Shade. Interment will be in Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill. Memorial contributions in Edith’s name may be made to OLPH church at the above address.
