Charles E. Tanzler, Sr. of Cinnaminson passed away peacefully on September 24, 2021. He was 93 years old. Born In Philadelphia on August 24, 1928, he was a longtime resident of Maple Shade before moving to Cinnaminson in 2003. Charles proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army during World War II and was a veteran of the Korean war. He retired from DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware where he worked as a pattern and model maker. Charles was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and was a Scout Master Troop 11 and Cub Master Troop 28 in Maple Shade. He was an avid gardener, bird watcher, square dancer and lifelong fan of the Eagles and Phillies. Charles was always available to help with any construction project and had a tool for every job. He is survived by his longtime love Minnie Chapman and was beloved husband of the late Evelyn, father of the late Clifford, brother of the late Paul & Walter Tanzler, Alma McCafferty and Florence (Flossie) Hanshaw. Charles is survived by his loving children Charlyn (Buzz) Cohen, and Charles, Jr. "Chuck" Tanzler, devoted father-in-law of Sharon (Jason) Peterson, brother Albert (Claire) Tanzler, cherished grandfather of April, Melissa, Julia, Stacy and Jessica and great grandfather of Ashlan, Marley, Christian and Sophia in addition to many nieces and nephews. Funeral services with military honors will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Brigadier Gen. W. C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. All are invited to join for the service promptly at 2:45 pm on Friday at the main entrance of the cemetery.
