Bruce David Thompson

Bruce David Thompson of Cherry Hill passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. He was 58 years old. Bruce was born on June 29, 1963 in Mt Holly. He grew up in Medford, before marrying and setting up house in Bellmawr for 10 years.  At that point he was the general contractor for building their dream home in Cherry Hill 21 years ago. Bruce was self-employed for 15 years at Bruce D Thompson Electrical before he was hired at Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, as a master electrician. He truly loved his short but meaningful time at Lockheed Martin and all the guys he worked with.   Bruce was a long serving deacon and member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Maple Shade. He enjoyed looking at, and tinkering with classic cars and traveling to the Carlisle Car Show bi-annually.  Bruce loved history and being an American patriot. He  was well known as Mr. Fixit of most everything. He loved mission trips, led and was part of 9 different trips where he served the Lord nationally and internationally. Above all Bruce loved his Lord Jesus and was devoted to his family, bragged about them often, and loved them dearly.

 

Beloved husband of 31 years to Kathleen Thompson (nee Rogan), cherished father of Samantha (Theodore) Chandler, and Maxwell Thompson, loving son of Jeanne (the late Earl W. Thompson), dear brother of Craig Thompson, devoted son-in-law of Bill and Fran Rogan, brother-in-law of Bill, Jr. (Jackie) Rogan, Bruce was also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many good friends.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Sunday, January 16th from 2-4 pm at Immanuel Baptist Church, 6 South Poplar Avenue, Maple Shade. His funeral service will take place following the visitation at 4 pm at the church. Memorial contributions to Immanuel Baptist Church, 233 E.
