Kilhatir “Alice” Alis Sisian of Cherry Hill for the past 60 years passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2023 with her loving daughter by her side. She was 89 years old. Born on October 31, 1933 in Istanbul, Turkey to the late Ohannes and Haiganoush Keshishian, Alice came to the United States on the SS Constitution in 1957. Upon arriving in New York City, she studied at Roosevelt High School to learn the English language in the evenings while working in the garment district by day sewing labels in clothing. Alice went on to marry the late Charles “Charlie” Sisian on June 14, 1959. Together Alice and Charlie owned and operated their deli business in Camden, NJ and then continued the family business as Charles’ Cold Cuts in Mt. Ephraim, NJ. Alice was known for her excellence in the kitchen and beautiful embroidery & sewing abilities, always the perfectionist. She was a longtime devoted member of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church in Cheltenham, Pa.
Beloved wife of the late Charles Sisian, loving mother of Denise Sisian, sister of the late Silva (James) Yacoobian, sister-in-law of the late Mary(Zareh)Momjian, sister-in-law of Virginia (the late Charles) Knott, dear aunt of Joan (Joel) Shaw, Debra Yacoobian, Susan (Paul) Harootunian, Rosemarie (Robert) Pratico, Paul (Hera) Momjian and John Momjian, loving great aunt of Paul and Anna, Alice will also be dearly missed by many cousins, great nieces and great nephews and Godchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and visitation with her family on Thursday evening, June 8th 7-9 pm at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade, NJ and on Friday morning 10 -11 am at the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 101 Ashmead Road, Cheltenham, Pa. 19012. Her funeral service will follow at 11 am at the church. Interment will be in Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name to the church at the above address would be appreciated.
