It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to a truly remarkable lady, Alfreda S. "Freda" Wudarski Kaufmann, 81, who passed away on March 18, 2024. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts, but her memory will live on forever in those who knew and loved her.
Born in Philadelphia on February 17, 1943, Freda grew up in Conshohocken and raised her family in Cinnaminson and enjoyed living along the river in Palmyra in later life. She was a hairdresser by trade, but most enjoyed working as a Teacher’s Aide in Riverside, where she was immensely loved by her students and staff.
Freda was a loving wife, overly giving mother, sister, MomMom, and dear friend. Her presence lit up any room she entered, and her kind heart touched the lives of so many. Freda had an enthusiasm for life that was truly infectious. She was an entertaining storyteller, avid thrift shopper, one armed bandit at the slot machines, and loved spending summers in Brigantine sitting on the front porch with her family gathered around her. She listened to her oldies and loved to sing and dance.
Freda leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She was the devoted wife of the late W. Karl Kaufmann, who was the love of her life. Mother of the late Kyle Kaufmann, and she is survived by two loving children, Karla Smiley (Don), Krista Irons (Artie); three beloved siblings, Barbara Welle (Larry), Fred Wudarski (Patricia), Lynn Angelo (the late Jody); and four cherished grandchildren, Sara Smiley, Katie Smiley, Alivia Irons, Arianna Irons, who were the light of her life. Freda had a special bond with each of them, and they will always carry her love in their hearts. Freda is also survived by many nieces and nephews who adored her.
She had a way of making everyone feel loved and valued, and her memory will continue to inspire us all. She will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace and reunited with her beloved husband and son. Freda's legacy will live on through the lives she touched, and we are grateful to have known such an incredible woman.
Funeral service and entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (Donate now to St. Jude and help kids fighting cancer - St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org)) on behalf of Alfreda.
