Ella W. Parmelee (née Walton) of Maple Shade passed away on December 29, 2016. She was 99 years old. Born in Philadelphia, she was a lifelong resident of Maple Shade. Ella and her late husband Harold were the owners, for many years, of the Parmelees Drug Store in Maple Shade. She also worked at Strawbridge & Clothier, and volunteered at Kennedy Hospital in Cherry Hill. Ella was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Maple Shade. She was an avid reader. Beloved wife of the late Harold L. Parmelee, Jr., mother of the late Harold L. Parmelee, III, mother-in-law of the late Rev. Paul Wilcox, sister of the late Charles and Stephen Walton. She is survived by her loving daughters, Joy Wilcox and Patti (Charles) Thompson, 7 cherished grandchildren, and 18 dear great grandchildren, devoted sister Bernice Kemmler, also many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and visitation with her family on Wednesday, January 4th, 11-12 noon at the Mark C. Tilghman Funeral Home, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade.
