Richard J. Borden

Richard J. Borden, age 79 of New Egypt, passed away peacefully at home on Friday July 8, 2016. Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong New Egypt resident. Dick retired from McGuire AFB central plant as an HVAC supervisor. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1955-61. He was a longtime member of the New Egypt United Methodist Church, the New Egypt Fire Co where he served as President, Trustee, an original board member and first president of the Fire Commissioners, a life member of the NJ State Relief Assoc., and a member of the Plumsted Twp Board of Adjustments. He owned Dick Borden Heating Service, was a Little League Coach, and a member of the Woodruff Rod and Gun Club. Beloved husband of Patsy Borden (née Rossell), loving father of Lori and her husband Bill Wilkins and Glenn and his wife Lori Borden, cherished grandfather of Jason Richard and Justin Lawrence Wilkins, Michelle and her husband Anthony Duven, and Chase Richard Borden, dear brother of Peggy LeJambre and brother-in-law of Ruth Borden, also many nieces and nephews, brother of the late Robert Borden and brother-in-law of the late Charles LeJambre. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Monday evening, July 11th, 6-9 pm and Tuesday morning 9-10 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ. Funeral service will take place Tuesday morning, 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jacobstown Cemetery.
