Funeral Services are pending for Mr. HoltzRichard Edward Holtz of Maple Shade died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, January 31, 2016. He was 86. Richard was born in Collingswood and grew up in Delanco. He had a long career with Trans World Airlines (TWA) in Philadelphia and San Diego, CA. In the 1960’s and 70’s, Richard “Dick” was a dedicated volunteer Maple Shade Fireman and a member of the Maple Shade First Aid Squad. He was a skilled mechanic, an avid gardener, and a bee keeper with hives throughout South Jersey for many years. Son of the late Howard and Bertha Holtz; brother of the late Bob, Howard, and Dorothy; he is survived by his loving wife, Clara (nee Godwin-Sheppard); five children, Bill Sheppard (Esther), Bob Sheppard (Betty), Bonnie Sheppard, Bryan Holtz (Amy), Barbara Lotierzo (Michael); seven grandchildren, Ben White (Jordan), Emily White, Mitchell Lotierzo (Mikaila), Jon Lotierzo, Matt Lotierzo, Frank Sheppard, Alex Sheppard; a great-granddaughter, Ava White; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to recognize Richard’s caregiver, Tiffany Whitehead, and all the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Saturday, February 6th at the Heritage Baptist Church, 530 Union Mill Rd., Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 12 pm until time of service at the church.
