Born January 22, 1956 in Camden, NJ to John and Dorothy Pestridge, Carol passed this life peacefully surrounded by family on December 18, 2015 at the Samaritan Hospice Unit in Mt. Holly. She spent her early years growing up first in Maple Shade and then in Moorestown where she graduated from Moorestown High School. As a youth she was involved with the school orchestra making all South Jersey Orchestra and was a Girl Scout. She then attended Albright College achieving her BSN in nursing. After school she worked at Cooper Hospital and attended University of Pennsylvania where she received her MSN in Perinatal Nursing. Carol then joined Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, now part of the Virtua Health System. She started as the Divisional Director of Maternal and Child Health and Mental Health and also started programs including the Women’s Health Network, Senior Health Link, Diabetes Program and Geriatric Assessment Program. Carol’s passion became the quality of care delivered to patients. She became the Director of Total Quality Management and then Assistant Vice President of Clinical Outcomes and Quality Management. She was on the initial management team to be trained as Master Black Belt for Operations Improvement. She then was promoted to Vice President, Clinical Outcomes and Quality Management for Virtua Health a position she held for 13 years up until her passing. She was a Certified Professional in Health Care Quality and a member of the National Quality Forum. Additionally, she was a youth leader in the Episcopal Church and served on the Diocesan Youth Council as a young adult. Carol later converted to the Roman Catholic Church and was an active member of the Catholic Community of Christ Our Light in Cherry Hill. She was a Board member of the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey for many years. She was named a 2006 Woman of the Year for Burlington County. Most recently she was a speaker and volunteer counselor for the Melanoma Research Foundation. Carol’s favorite roles however were as wife to her husband Michael and mother to her daughter Emily and son Kevin. Carol is survived by Michael, Emily and Kevin at home all of Moorestown, mother Dorothy Pestridge of Mt. Holly, sister Claudia Storicks (Harry deceased) of Pemberton, Christine Pestridge of Bayville and Cathleen Tabasso (Gregory) of Tabernacle, nieces and nephews Jennifer Van Emburgh (Chuck) of Tabernacle, Jessica Storicks of Browns Mills, Jillianne Storicks of Pemberton, Gregory Tabasso, Jr. of Philadelphia, Joshua and Abigail Tabasso of Tabernacle and 3 great nephews Brandon Van Emburgh, Nathan Van Emburgh and Darrel Fields. She is also survived by many relatives in the Mullin family who loved her as a daughter, sister and aunt and who cherish the memory of Carol's warmth and generosity. She was predeceased by her father John Pestridge. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at Christ Our Light, 402 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, NJ on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11am. Visitation with the family will precede the service from 9am to 11am at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K Street, NW Suite 800, Washington, DC 20005. Arrangements by the Mark C. Tilghman Funeral Home, Maple Shade, NJ.
