Edward J. Rathgeb, age 51, lifelong resident of Maple Shade passed away suddenly on July 24th, 2015. Ed was a self employed home remodeling contractor and was very talented in his trade. There was nothing Ed could not give some thought to and fix! He was a member of the Maple Shade Business Association and in his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, watching Nascar, vacationing in Disney World and frequenting Wawa for his coffee. Beloved father of the late Joseph, son of the late John "Sher" Rathgeb, son-in-law of the late John Spitz, he is survived by his beloved wife Margaret "Meg" Rathgeb (nee Spitz), loving and devoted father to Danielle, Mark and Steven, dear son of Doris Rathgeb and son-in-law of Marianna Spitz, loving brother of Janet (Tom) Mastrangelo, Barbara Rathgeb and James Rathgeb, cherished grandfather of Kai, Nicholas, Kaylin and McKinley, also survived by many aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Ed's viewing and visitation with his family on Thursday evening, July 30th 6-9 pm at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd, Maple Shade. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 31st 10:30 am at Christ Our Light R.C. Church, 402 N. Kings Hwy, Cherry Hill. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rathgeb Benefit Fund, C/O Investors Bank, 124 E. Main St, Maple Shade, NJ 08052.
