James J. McVeigh, Jr.

James J. McVeigh, Jr age 81 of Atco, passed away at home on July 15, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, he was a Maple Shade resident for 52 years before moving to Atco 12 years ago. Jim served in the US Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver for James Morrisey Contracting. Jim was a member of the Maple Shade Democratic Club and the Maple Shade First Aid Squad. Upon retirement, Jim and his beloved wife Jackie enjoyed many years raising Alpacas on their "farm" in Atco and spending time with their loving family. Jim is survived by his beloved wife Marlene "Jackie" McVeigh (nee Miller), his dear children James III (Nancy) McVeigh, Marianne (the late Edwin), Schofield, Andrea "Terry" (Larry) DeGolia, Michael (Jean) McVeigh, Tony (Christine) McVeigh, cherished grandfather of 11, and proud great grandfather of 4, also many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Tuesday, July 21st, 6-8 pm and Wednesday 10-11 am at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd, Maple Shade. Jim's funeral service will follow at 11 am on Wednesday. Interment will be in NJ Veterans Cemetery.
