Alice E. Ensign-Palme

Alice E. Ensign-Palme born April 23, 1918, our beautiful Mom, surrounded by her loving family, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, on April 18, 2015. Daughter of the late Harry R. Brosious and Anna Thieme, Mom was pre-deceased by her beloved husbands, Ralph D. Ensign,Sr., Henry McGuigan, and Frederick Palme, as well as her adored sons, Alfred (Cathy) McGuigan, James (Elda) McGuigan, and Kenneth Ensign, grandsons Stephen Goebel and John Kunze and great-granddaughter Jenna Afroilan, mother-in-law of the late George Goebel and Tom McGuire, sister of the late Margaret E. May, survived by son Ralph D. (Cathy) Ensign, Jr., and daughters Patricia Goebel, Carol Roccia, Delores McGuire and Toni (Sam) Morrissey. Mom is also survived by 21 treasured grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. In addition, she leaves many wonderful memories to her dear nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. Mom most enjoyed celebrating family occasions, going out to dinner, to the casinos and just having a good time and always looking her best! Her fondest pastime was reading; she could devour a novel or two in a day. When her older children were toddlers, Mom could be found making clothing for them on her trusty treadlefoot Singer. She was an excellent International cook long before Food Network; Mom's chow mein, kielbasa, beef stew and vegetable soup were the best. Everyone who came in at dinnertime was welcomed to share in her delicious, homemade meals. Mom was part of the generation that we recognize as the backbone of our country. We thank the staff at Virtua Rehab and Health Center, Lumberton, NJ for their loving care of Mom during her residence. We will honor our Mom's life and her passing at her funeral service on Thursday April 23rd, 11 am at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade, with Interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. Mom's viewing and visitation with her family will be held on Thursday 9-11 am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 26 S. Forklanding Rd, Maple Shade, NJ 08052 or Lighthouse Hospice, 1040 N. Kings Hwy, Suite 100, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. All friends and family are most welcome to attend and bring your memories to share of a wonderful life. We are blessed!
