Joseph M. Powell

Joseph M. Powell age 88 of Maple Shade passed away on Thursday February 19, 2015. Born in Philadelphia he resided in Maple Shade for the last 64 years. Joe proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Local #107 of Philadelphia. Joe was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Maple Shade and was also an avid dart player. Loving father of the late Joseph and Maryanne Powell, he was the beloved husband of Anna Mae "Sis" Powell (nee McGuire), loving father of Susan Powell, Michael (Robin) Powell, Bill (Debbie) Powell, Sharon (Jim) Gauntt and Dennis and Kira Powell, dear brother of Marie Walls and Lillian Funsch, cherished grandfather of Chrissy, Denise, Joseph, Billy Joe, Jennifer, Scott, Breanna, Cody, Jimmy, Casey, Brady and Autumn, and adoring great grandfather of six, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joe's funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 24th, 11:30 am at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd, Maple Shade. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family Tuesday morning 9-11:30 am at the funeral home.
