Arthur E. Hoch age 82 of Maple Shade passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Born in West Reading, Pa., he was a 58 year resident of Maple Shade. Art was a Marine Corps Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict, also receiving the "Purple Heart". He retired from NJ Bell Telephone after 30 years as a line foreman and also worked for 9 years at the Maple Shade Police Department in maintenance. Art was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post #66, an engineer with the Maple Shade First Aid Squad, a member of the Maple Shade Fire Department, a Maple Shade Reserve Police Officer and an assistant Scout Master with Troop 11 and Cub Master with Pack 11 in Maple Shade. Son of the late Henry and Margaret Williamson, brother of the late Elaine Kelch, Beloved husband of Marie (nee Pokorski-Hagmaier) Hoch, loving father of Jeffrey (Karen) Hoch, Karen (Robert, Sr) Collins, cherished grandfather of Michelle Lynn Daoust, Robert, Jr (Alicia) Collins and David (Andrea) Collins, proud great grandfather of Paige, Ava, Chase and Braden, devoted brother of Carolyn (Carl) Oattes, Richard (Sandra) Hoch and Linda Robinson (William Bruce), also survived by sister-in-law Trudy Kassekert and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Monday evening 7-9 pm and Tuesday 11 am - 12 noon at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will be in the NJ Veterans cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Art's name to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Ste 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
