Alfred H. Rieger

Alfred H. Rieger age 90, of Maple Shade passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday August 19, 2014. Born in Phila., he was a lifelong resident of Maple Shade. During WWII Al served in the U.S. Coast Guard, Merchant Marine Division. He was a retired carpenter with Union Local #393 in Camden. He was a longtime member and usher at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Al was an award winning artist, and he enjoyed painting and crabbing. Beloved husband of Helen (nee Freytag) Rieger, son of the late Alfred and Rose Rieger, brother of the late William (Ann) Rieger, loving father of Susan Heilman, Steven A. (Trisha) Rieger, Debra (Robert) Taylor, dear grandfather of Jennifer (Keith) Wunsch, Erin (Anthony) Chille, Morgan Heilman, Shawn (Megan) Rieger, Steven A. Rieger, Jr, cherished great grandfather of 4, devoted brother of Martha Zindel and the late Frank, Joseph (Shirley) Rieger and Robert (Janet) Rieger, uncle to many nieces and nephews. Al's funeral service will be held on Saturday August 23rd, 10 am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 26 S. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Friday evening 7-9 pm at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd, Maple Shade and Saturday morning 9-10 am at the church. Interment will be in Bethel Memorial Park.
